Parvin F. Peddi, MD
After nearly a decade at UCLA, where she was a member of the Medical Oncology faculty, a recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award for breast cancer research, and lead Medical Oncology at the Revlon UCLA Breast Cancer Clinic at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Peddi joined the Margie Petersen Breast Center at Providence Saint John’s Health Center as the Director of Breast Medical Oncology in 2021. She directs breast cancer clinical trials as well as has as a busy clinic.
Dr. Peddi received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University where she graduated with Honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine where she also spent a year conducting research at the NIH as a Howard Hughes Scholar. She then completed her internal medicine training at Washington University in St. Louis. She served as chief resident there and was lead co-author of the world renown Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics. She completed her fellowship in hematology & oncology at Washington University and at UCLA.
Dr. Peddi lives with her husband, also a physician, in Santa Monica with their two boys and a golden retriever.
Macy Duong, Nurse Practitioner
Macy Duong is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner at the Providence Saint John’s Cancer Institute and supports Dr. Peddi’s practice at the Margie Petersen Breast Center. Macy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of California, Irvine. She then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is dual-certified in both adult and women’s health. She received training in various oncology subspecialties at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center. Macy is a member of the Greater Los Angeles Oncology Nursing Society.
Macy’s inspiration for nursing came in her early 20’s when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She chose oncology because she wants to help people who need it most and this field inspires her to be a strong supporter, advocate, and source of positivity to her patients that may be going through the most difficult point in their lives. She makes it a priority to build relationships with her patients while guiding them through the complexity of cancer care.
In her free time, Macy enjoys photography, hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends & family. She is fluent in Chinese Cantonese.
Yvonne Flores, Administrative Assistant
Yvonne has been working in the medical field for over 30 years. More than half of these years have been with breast cancer patients. She is the first person you would talk to when setting up an appointment to see Dr. Peddi and the person who would hold your hand through that initial diagnosis of breast cancer. Her compassion and love for patients is invaluable to the clinic. She always has a smile on her face and takes the time to help in any way possible.
Yvonne has many other talents and enjoys baking elaborate cakes, making beautiful flower arrangements and has a knack for all handicraft!
